“Dandelions” uses the form of street signs to call attention to the humble plant, which, despite its reputation, is a beautiful and nutritious plant that grows in even the toughest environments, like city sidewalks. This “pioneer” species grows where others cannot, loosening the soil and paving the way for others to be able to thrive. They are an apt symbol for the unsung heroes in our midst.
Originally created for a temporary installation in a rapidly changing neighborhood in NYC, they are now permanently installed outside the Brew House Lofts, paying tribute to the many artists and creatives that lived and worked in the building over the years.
